Get the right runner blocks with digital turbo power18.06.2017 10.10
Bosch Rexroth has expanded its series of completely digital eTools for linear motion technology: The new online configurator for runner blocks depicts the company’s full range of ball and roller rail systems. Therefore, in just a few steps, the user can define and order their own custom product. Automatic plausibility checks prevent configuration errors, particularly when individual selections are changed retrospectively. The user can download a 2D or 3D model before ordering. An accompanying 3D drawing in PDF format makes it easier to swap parts before completing the order in the eShop. With a building system for more than 1 million possible combination of components, users of the new online configurator benefit from an extraordinarily high degree of customization with minimal engineering time. In keeping with the demands of a smart factory, Rexroth also produces small quantities all the way down to a batch size of one. Design engineers are able to quickly and easily configure the runner blocks precisely to their requirements and order the individual amounts required via the completely digital process – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Defining the runner block starts with selecting the guide type, followed by the desired size, format and design. In the next steps, the configurator will request the preload, precision class and seal type, then options such as ball chain, initial lubrication/lubricant and attachments. Lastly, it can be defined on the left, right or on two sides, for example for a lube fitting or additional seal. Once you have registered and logged in, configurations can be saved as a project and viewed later. This saves even more time when ordering, which is done seamlessly via the linked Bosch Rexroth eShop. The user can request the 2D and 3D CAD data in various formats before ordering. In addition, a rotatable 3D drawing in PDF format will be sent automatically, which also shows a detailed view of the combined components using the component tree. Using this, purchasers can therefore still coordinate with the specialist department before completing the order. If you need advice, the online configurator also allows an additional contact request. The new online configurator is available now in eight languages. |
