Frank Seehausen, Vice President Group Technical Director at Aventics, was elected to the board of the Fluid Power Association, part of the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) by the general assembly. The 58-year-old will share his pneumatics expertise with the expert committee effective immediately.

“Pneumatics has a highly promising future, especially in networked concepts like the Internet of Things,” states Frank Seehausen. The electrical engineer has worked for pneumatics specialist Aventics for over three decades and played a crucial role in driving the integration of electronics into the entire product range forward in various management positions. Since 2014, he has been in charge of global engineering, including customer-specific applications. “On the international market, we are also seeing a clear trend to integrate pneumatics digitally via open standards and apply sensor technology for condition monitoring approaches,” emphasizes Frank Seehausen. “German pneumatics manufacturers are the technological leaders – a position we want to maintain and strengthen.”

The VDMA is Europe’s largest industrial association. The Fluid Power Association serves the interests of over 200 member companies from the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, and sealing technology. In terms of sales in the industry, they represent nearly the entire German market. The newly elected board will hold office until 2021.
