Building automation: Rexroth opts for KNX17.07.2019 11.11
Smart building as the key technology for sustainable building rapidly advances the connectivity of building technology. Open communications standards are essential in this process. Bosch Rexroth is now supporting this trend in the area of building automation with the KNX master, which is used in industrial control systems on a modular basis. In addition to previous communication modules, Bosch Rexroth now also offers KNX as an addition to the existing S20 portfolios. The module with KNX certification fulfills all necessary standards. The robust I/O modules with protection class IP20 are designed for a working temperature range of -25 °C to +60 °C. In addition, the communication modules also fulfill the building regulations regarding EMC. No tools are required for simple wiring. Users can connect more than 7,000 different actuators, switches and sensors from different manufacturers to the robust Bosch Rexroth embedded control systems. Commissioning and configuration is customarily conducted via ETS software starting from ETS V5. If required, designers can extend the single controls with additional KNX modules, each bundling up to 1,000 data points. This way, the amount of data points per control system can be significantly increased, while reducing the hardware effort. Embedded controllers from Rexroth supporting the IEC 61131-3 programming languages and offer a large number of predefined functional modules that only need to be parameterized during commissioning. All KNX-specific data point types can be used. Rexroth control systems and I/O systems are already being used in more than seven million square meters of floor space: from factories and research institutions to offices. The manufacturer is available 24/7 to offer support to anyone planning, implementing or using the systems. |
