Danfoss MP1T axial piston tandem pump boosts efficiency of dual-path propel systems in off-highway machinery

Danfoss Power Solutions today announced the launch of its MP1T axial piston tandem pump. An addition to the company’s popular MP1 medium-power closed-circuit hydraulic platform, the MP1T tandem pump offers high rotating efficiency, enhanced controllability, and the shortest pump length in its class. The pump is designed for construction machinery and other applications with dual-path propel systems.

The MP1T pump delivers market-leading total efficiency, lowering the total cost of ownership. Its field-proven rotating kit, used in other MP1 products, delivers up to 6% higher mechanical efficiency than similar products on the market. Its lower system pressure results in lower power consumption and less heat generation, further reducing energy consumption by minimizing cooling requirements.

The highly controllable pump utilizes PLUS+1® compliant controls, the same used with the H1 and MP1 platforms, to improve machine productivity and enable a better driving experience for the operator. MP1T control options include electric displacement control, forward-neutral-reverse, non-feedback proportional electric, manual displacement control, and non-feedback proportional hydraulic control.

The pump’s compact, robust design eases machine integration and maintenance. MP1T is 33 millimeters shorter in length than the next best alternative, saving space in the engine compartment while enabling easier installation and service. It features opposite porting for easier hose routing and connections, plus one clean side with no ports, further simplifying machine layout and service. Its single-piece housing minimizes leaks.

“The new MP1T tandem pump builds on our trusted MP1 platform, offering the same reliable, field-proven technology as our single pump,” said Fumiaki Egawa, Global Sales Development Manager, Hydrostatics division, Danfoss Power Solutions. “The MP1T's superior efficiency, compact design, and full set of control options set a new standard for dual-path propel applications. And, together with our motors, valves, hoses and fittings, electronics, and software, we can create a complete system solution that maximizes machine performance."

The Danfoss MP1T axial piston tandem pump is currently available in 28-cc and 32-cc displacements, with more displacement options planned. The pump features a maximum working pressure of 350 bar. It is ideal for construction machinery including compact track loaders, skid steer loaders, and mini loaders, plus other dual-path machines such as carriers/forwarders and mowers.
