HYDROTRAC GFT transmission unit - Compact and low-maintenance

With readily available standard assemblies, machine manufacturers are able to enhance their customized drive solutions quickly and simply. The low-maintenance, dynamic multiple-disc brake from Bosch Rexroth reduces the installation space required and reduces the weight by up to 75 percent in comparison to conventional mechanical brakes.

With more than eight years of experience in the field, the dynamic brake in the HYDROTRAC GFT transmission unit now offers an advanced alternative to the conventional disc or shoe brake and is also up to 75 percent lighter than conventional brake solutions. Manufacturers can optionally receive dynamic multi-disc brakes for the HYDROTRAC GFT in sizes 8120, 8130 and 8150. In connection with the High Level Braking HLB system from Rexroth, self-propelled working machines can fulfill the high safety requirements for speeds up to 50 km/h, as is stipulated, for example, in German (StVZO) or American (ASAE) traffic regulations. Series production machines that are equipped with a Rexroth transmission unit including a multi-disc brake have already been approved in both countries under the respective regulations.

And the key aspect here: The discs of the dynamic brakes are on the inside of the transmission unit and are protected from grime and other environmental influences. This helps to make the complete drive unit very compact and it also means very low-maintenance operation. With proper designed machine layout, the brakes are completely wear free. Since fewer components are required in total, the system also offers a cheaper alternative to existing solutions.

The modularly designed HYDROTRAC GFT 8000 transmission units come in nine sizes, covering output torques from 10 to 130 kNm with finely graduated gear ratios in both open and closed circuits. Through the combination of two and three-stage planetary gearboxes with the latest series of Rexroth constant and variable motors, they achieve around 10 percent more torque in comparison to the previous series. As a result, machine manufacturers can improve driving performance without changing the machine dimensions or can use a smaller size whilst maintaining the same power. Thanks to the platform concept, the transmission units, which are available from stock, can be installed in various vehicle designs. As a ready-to-install, hydraulic motor gearbox unit, including dynamic brake, they reduce logistics and assembly work for heavy duty vehicles, farm equipment on wheels, track driven machines and rollers.
