Europe's most agile sports venues use Rexroth technology

Tough defenders, dynamic forwards or elaborate footwork artists in the midfield: During the next few weeks, everything will be revolving around soccer in Europe.

But even technology fans will get their money's worth in more and more stadiums. Moving roofs and stands increase flexibility for various sport and event types at any time of year and in all weathers. As a system partner, Bosch Rexroth supplies the appropriate drive systems for this, as powerful, dynamic and sensitive as modern soccer. 

The Amsterdam ArenA has been weatherproof for some time now: Electromechanical drives from Rexroth have been opening and closing the stadium's roof for twenty years. A principle that is also used by the GelreDome in Arnhem. In the Caja Mágica tennis stadium in Madrid, electrohydraulic drives open and close all three roofs simultaneously. The main roof alone weighs 1,800 metric tons. 

A combined electric and hydraulic drive solution moves parts of the south stand of the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen. It is possible to park the playing field outside of the area by retracting the stand supports. The "auf Schalke" stand can be lowered and moved back to create additional space for a concert stage. In this way, the versatile stadium offers space for more than 72,000 spectators during major events.
