Electronified up to 530 bar for the travel drive of the future

The new A4VG series 35 axial piston variable pumps from Rexroth already fulfill the upcoming requirements for electronified travel drives with their integrated sensors and higher burst strength.

With these features, they support the trend towards ever-closer networking of motor and machine control with the travel drive. Whether they are used as an individual component or as a complete solution together with optimally adapted hydraulic motors and the new, preprogrammed travel drive software from Rexroth, they reduce the time and money spent on engineering new drive concepts.

The trend is clear: More and more manufacturers of compact construction machinery and municipal vehicles are working on new travel drive concepts with higher working pressures and electronic control. Their aim is to bring down consumption and exhaust emissions while improving driving comfort. In addition, by transferring the majority of functions to the software, they reduce variance with regard to assembly. Depending on the customer's order and requirements, it is possible to enable certain program functions on identical hardware.

The new A4VG series 35 axial piston variable pump is designed for these future requirements. The developers at Rexroth have integrated an extensive sensor package into the short pump, which simplifies the electronification of travel drives in closed circuits. Offering a nominal pressure of 400 bar and a maximum pressure of 530 bar, the pump meets machine manufacturers' demands for higher pressure levels. Moreover, it was developed on the basis of the proven series 32 rotary groups in swashplate design and covers sizes 40 to 90. A further benefit is the design for travel drives, which has been optimized using load collectives. This results in a compact design and high power density.

Together with high-efficiency hydraulic motors of the A6VM series and the new DRCA4x travel drive software, Rexroth also offers complete solutions for travel drives from a single source. All of the components are optimally adjusted to one another and all basic functions have already been predefined in the software. This reduces engineering time and costs and, in most cases, makes complex programming a thing of the past. The machine manufacturers have only to define the series-specific parameters.
